Well well well, long time no see, Tumblr!
Things have been quite busy up until quite recently! Christmas Ship is always a test of nerves, patience, and strength/longevity of coffee. But Pete and I made it through! Then came NYE, which I spent talking guys out of mooning people, taking away pot, and confiscating stolen champagne bottles and smuggled liquor as always. It kills me because it always happens in an open bar! Who the hell brings smuggled liquor into an open bar?!
I’ve gotten so sick of people at my bar recently. Like when woo girls (pain in the dyed-blonde ass) insist that I don’t know what I’m talking about because they “have their liquor card.” Just because you have taken a state-run class does not mean you are an actual bartender. Especially when you come up to the bar and ask for a double cranberry, and look at me like I’m stupid when I ask what you’d like with it. (You’re gonna get a double-shot of cranberry juice.)
But pete and i get a little break from a busy bar for a couple weeks, as today is the beginning of maintenance season on the boats.
I am however up for a promotion! I am currently the senior-most Bosun in the entire company, and the only bosun to have done so on more than one vessel. I’ll keep you posted if it goes my way! Happy New Year everyone!
